JOB SPECIFICATION FOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER
RPA Code are looking for a passionate and intelligent developer to develop bespoke web applications across a wide range of products and services. Particularly:
Architect and build medium sized applications to serve between 100-10,000 visitors.
Deal with and manage a fast moving set of a projects, effectively distributing your time across each.
Establish strong working relationships with clients and illustrate communicative ability confidently.
Display an open mind when discussing concepts and key problems with the rest of the team.
Skillset
The following skills are a must:
PHP (5+).
SQL (with a steady understanding of MySQL).
Version control (we use CVS and GIT).HTML & CSS (you can confidently create complex pages with semantic markup).
Javascript (with a sturdy understanding of some of the common libraries in use today, we use jQuery).
A strong understanding of key programming practices.
And the following would be a bonus:
OOP design experience.
Other design pattern knowledge (we use an MVC, PHP framework to get the job done).
An understanding of logical UI design.Experience with Photoshop or other industry standard image manipulation software (if you can easily translate a PSD into a HTML/CSS design you'll be fine).
Strong understanding of version control best practices. You know your way around GIT and understand how to effectively use version control within your daily workflow (from a distributed context).
Have some experience with using a bug tracking system, and can efficiently use one to increase productivity and the overall quality of the finished product.
A strong list of previous work/a portfolio site demonstrating previous work.Knowledge of Unix/Apache and common protocols (such as HTTP) is also handy.
This is a full-time role, with salary dependent on experience. Our working environment is excellent - you'll get to work in The Pit and The Cocoon and use the huge multi-touch screen and be able to work sat or stood at your electric desk.
